Simple Steps to a Healthier Life™

Want to get serious about shedding those extra pounds? Kicking an unhealthy habit? Reducing stress? Now there's help. With Simple Steps to a Healthier Life, Aetna's online wellness program, you can get personalized information and self-help tools for weight loss, stress management, fitness and better overall health.

Getting There

You can access Simple Steps through Aetna Navigator by clicking on the Simple Steps link. You'll register by filling out a simple online form with your name, date of birth, Social Security Number or Aetna Member ID number (from your Aetna ID card). Then you'll create a user ID and password. (Note: If you haven't registered with Aetna Navigator, you'll need to do this before you can access the Simple Steps program.)

The Health Risk Assessment

Aetna Navigator features a Health Risk Assessment, an easy-to-use health questionnaire that helps you learn about some of your potential health risks. The questions are presented in an easy-to-read format and address more than 20 health risk factors in areas such as health and lifestyle choices, personal and family health history, and preventive health screenings. Once you complete the questionnaire, you'll receive:

  • An overall health score
  • A breakdown of some of your personal health risks
  • A printable report you can discuss with your doctor
  • A personalized health action plan

The Action Plan

Your personalized action plan will recommend healthy living programs that can help you reduce your health risks. These may include:

  • Weight Loss
  • Healthy Aging
  • Get in Shape
  • Stress Relief
  • Healthy Eating
  • Healthy Heart
  • Disease Fighting (for cancer and diabetes)
  • Smoking Cessation
  • Alcohol Awareness

Each program has specific goals and action steps to help you focus your efforts and track your progress. You'll even receive weekly email reminders to help you stay on course.
